I Saw The Light has the elements of a great film, perfect casting, good story elements and music that was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately the editing turned this into a confusing mess with little punch to it. Perhaps following along too closely with the movie’s namesake biography, there was no story here other than to show interesting moments in Hank Williams life, to show that he abused alcohol and drugs and spent entirely way too much of his time womanizing when he should have been focusing on his family or career. It’s sad because from the interviews I’ve seen from Tom Hiddleston, he really dove deep for the role and he really did do a great job with what he was given.
Here’s the song that the movie took the name:
Here’s Tom Hiddleston doing the same song:
Really I could link to about 30 other videos of Tom singing, he’s got a great voice and he does very well at emulating Hank Williams, so skip watching the movie and just go through a youtube playlist of everything you can find for “Tom Hiddleston Hank Williams”.
Also, yes, that was Elizabeth Olsen in the film, which was weird. She’s awesome but it was weird to see the Scarlet Witch so chummy with Loki
You think that’s weird? Her brother in Age of Ultron was her husband in Godzilla.
the guy that played quicksilver was in godzilla?
my life is a lie!
Yuppers. He was the main Army guy. And he was Kick Ass in Kick Ass.
