Over produced and unnecessary, I really wonder who they were selling this movie to. I grew up with this movie being a hallmark of my childhood, my mother loved it so much that I got to listen to the soundtrack quite frequently. None of the songs are exactly how I know them and the new songs stick out like sore thumbs. Additionally, I’m ok with the idea of a prince being turned into a giant beast by an enchantress, but it completely breaks my suspension of disbelief to have every French character in the film have a British accent. Every scene is overloaded with massive amounts of noticeable CGI, even scenes that shouldn’t have much, like Belle in her yellow dress. They’re all so over produced with graphical nonsense that there’s no sense of wonder or joy.
Skip it if you ever saw and appreciated the original animated Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, this live action version doesn’t do it justice at all.
