    it can’t be that difficult to escape non-ascii characters on the back end… if i can do it from the front end, what’s the problem? then you wouldn’t get titles that say ???? / ???????????? every time your robot slurps some non-ascii site…

    unfortunately they’re not supported at ALL in the title column, I should do research on that.

    looks like it might be a character encoding issue from when I first launched the site over 10 years ago

    UTF8 and UTF16 are supported in my WP title column…

    apparently when I migrated about 9 years ago i set the title column to latin-8 or something stupid like that
