Feels much like The Producers, though in this case the producer is unwittingly a conman, and not as intentional as the two liars from The Producers. SING has impressive animation set to pop songs that everyone knows and can sign along to, but it’s definitely missing something special.

I would agree. The movie isn’t bad and can be enjoyed for a few viewings, but it is missing something that makes this a joy to watch over and over again. It may be that the film is following too many characters and because of that, it feels like it gets lost in the middle somewhere. I think the movie is about 20 minutes longer than it should be and it suffers for it along with too many character stories.
too many characters and way too many song clips
