There’s like 20 different versions of this, I bought the one that was just the Base Game, which comes with ‘zombie mode’, which I really thought I would be more interested in than I ended up being. The main game of Infinity War is pretty good, they’ve finally gotten off planet and are doing things that are interesting again, unfortunately the devs have said that the fanbase didn’t react well enough to the Space / Future setting, so this apparently will be the last game in that particular direction. It was odd to play a FPS that didn’t have a minimap or threat indicator, all the main game had was a splash of blood in the general direction that you’re receiving damage from, which isn’t as helpful as I could hope for.
I really enjoyed the story and characters of the Mars v Earth conflict, there’s ample opportunity to flesh it out much more, I’m happy I got what I did out of it. The visuals were absolutely amazing and the audio design was on point as well.
Zombie mode was a let down, I thought it would be more better bigly, but it turns out to be just a single map and zombies that get progressively stronger and faster. I’m not going to put in the hours it’ll take me to unlock some of the most basic weapons, so I was stuck with a wimpy shotgun and ww1 rifle. There isn’t much of a weapons progression and the zombie experience is frustrating after the first hour or so.
I didn’t touch the multiplayer mode, I have no desire to have my butt handed to me by 10 year old children.
