It’d be nice if it were the case, but so-called “right to work” laws mean that bad bosses are in control. As long as it ain’t something specifically prohibited, you can be fired for anything. Even obvious lies. “You’re lucky to even HAVE a job” is used to excuse all sorts of abuse.
Did the labor invest all they own in creating the company?
Do they have to file for bankruptcy and pick up the shattered pieces of their lives if the company fails?
You are only going to get paid based off the value you bring to the company you work for. If you feel undervalued then seek employment elsewhere. If you can’t find that better paying job then improve your skills or learn new ones.
