I am a big fan of Joe. His guidance on how to counter a home invasion was classic. Home invasions are generally done by 3 or more so his advice? All anyone needs is a double barreled shotgun says he. Fire the first blast in the air as a warning says he. Then … well it’s the feelings that matter most. Perhaps they’ll apologize and leave?
Joe’s assertion was that all anyone needs for home defense is a double barreled shotgun. i.e. not a pump or semi-auto or any other semi-auto firearm. His intent apparently was to negate ownership of handguns and rifles while not alienating rural constituents. Shooting approximately “up” by the untrained while the adrenalin is flowing will often be unwise in multi level buildings and built up areas. Then there’s the just what kind of ammo is being used thing. A portion of a 00 load in an assailant is effective but … where did the rest of it go? Kids? neighbours? A recent video showing scattering thugs can be used to support one point of view. Another recent occurrence had 3 invaders in a shoot out with several police. That willingness to fight supports another POV. Joe’s solution would leave 1 round to deal with whatever followed the hole in the ceiling and upstairs yelling. That’s a fairly simple math thing… even for the “grown up” above. So what to use? I don’t know. Experts seem to abound and their opinions divided. Interestingly in Florida as we speak, stuff is sold out and cops have advised in some areas they just will not respond. I DO actually sort of like Joe. He seems like a gent for all of his confusion.
This is what a grown-up sounds like.
…………….after a head injury
You don’t know many grown-ups, do you tom…?

You heard the whistle.
And which of those 3 would you advocate shooting first Skandy…?
I’m geniunely curious how you might see such a scenario playing out.
from the home security videos I’ve seen, they generally scatter like roaches after the first shot
