ALBERT FISH tells the horrific true story of a sadomasochistic cannibal and serial killer, who lured children to their deaths in Depression-era New York City.
I think this could only be called a documentary in the very loosest form of the meaning. Sure all the lurid details are here, but they’re presented in such a tabloidesque fashion that I felt more titillated than informed afterwards.
Borowski’s done a whole series on American serial killers, all of them in a rather lurid, prurient style. I have to admit, the psychology of these men fascinates me, but I’d rather read a well written and researched book on the subject than watch a sensationalistic documentary.
I swear they spent more time talking about how he dismembered his victims and “did not fuck them”, but how sexually perverted he was in writing letters to ladies that placed classified ads….ugh.
he apparently drank a lot of pee too, which they went into lurid detail as well.
