Couldn’t even watch the whole thing. Fast and the Furious meets what little is left of the Star Trek franchise after the reboot and its sequel chewed it up and shat out the worst bits. Great. Just fucking great. They should stop being so coy and just hand the next movie to Michael Bay.
So Enterprise yet again gets destroyed ?
Now I know why people in Federation don’t get paid – all the money go into building and rebuilding starships 😀
What surprised and delighted me is that Simon Pegg gets the main writers credit. He shares it with Doug Jung and there are three other uncredited writers. Unfortunately, having so many writers usually means the script will be a hot mess. I haven’t seen the movie so I don’t know if this is the case.
And the fact that Justin Lin is in the director’s chair does exactly inspire confidence; however, I thought the above trailer was a vast improvement over the first.

you may be thinking of the first film, this one is pretty good, much closer to the original series than the most recent JJ movies

I’m still willing to give it a look.
considering Simon Pegg’s response to the first trailer, I’m sure all the Powers That Be got together and figured their shit out.
