House of Wax was remade in stereoscopic 3D and directed by Andre de Toth, a man with one eye so he couldn’t see the effect. It was also one of the first films with stereophonic sound. Happily he had two functioning ears. So that was alright.
I just watched this movie (for the first time!) because I ran into this post while fixing some tags. The 3d stuff was obnoxious, but seeing as this was one of the first movies to do it, I can’t blame them too much!
Terry Wogan (RIP) interviews Vincent Price. Waxworks are mentioned.
