    The Big Sleep is full of AMAZING dialogue. Raymond Chandler’s novel is adapted by William Faulkner, Leigh Brackett (a woman! www.danielmartineckhart.com/2013/09/leigh-brackett-and-howard-hawks.html) and Jules Furthman.

    How this scene got past the censor I’ll never know.

    (I have no idea why we need giant subs on this. Just to make it even more clear they’re talking about horse racing and NOT sex perhaps?)
