I know anecdotal evidence means shit….but the 4 biggest assholes I went to high school with (a long, long time ago) became cops.
These were the guys who cheated on every exam, shoplifted a ton of stuff, and sold pot.
Uhhhhh, hate to break it to you all, BUT.the girl in question was continually disruptive in class, and had refused to leave her seat multiple times. In many states in the US, Cops are allowed under the law to resort to force to insure safety and peaceful learning environment in the classrooms of public schools.
The girl will most likely be charged with multiple crimes, including assault on an officer, AND she will be kicked out of school for at least one year. Jack is going to happen to the cop.
*I’m NOT* saying what happened is right, but that’s probably how it’s going to play out.
When a man with a gun tells you to do something, you should probably do it, and complain later.
Uhhhhh, thanks for “breaking it to us”, drew. thank god we have someone here that knows every single thing that happened before this 16 second tape, and every single thing that will happen in the future. youre swell.
Read the news. The student was asked by her teacher and her principal to put up her phone and leave the classroom. She refused every time, so the SRO was brought in. Similar event happened at my high school 5 years ago, so I have seen this before.
Please don’t think that I like this either. I’m just saying that the game is rigged, and cops have way too much power.
And if you disagree with me, then what do you think will happen? I seriously would like to hear your opinion on this shitty situation.
Because it’s illegal to record schoolchildren while they are inside a school. This is an anti-stalking law designed to prevent Chester the Child Molester from having access to possible targets. That’s why the video recorder was arrested.
Me? I think using this law to arrest a student is complete shit, and abuse of the law.
WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED WAS THIS: After the girl refused the SRO orders, the classroom should have been cleared and monitored. Paramedics should have been called along with the parents/guardians to defuse the situation and remove the girl without harm to herself or anyone else.
The cop fucked up — plain and simple. BUT, the girl hit the cop,and now her life is ruined because they will hit her with assault charges, and thanks to Mr. Video (who recorded the entire thing) the DA will be able to prove it was assault.
Everybody fucked up here. Everybody. That’s what I’m trying to say.

its called ask, tell, make. Of course the video doesn’t start when the officer asked her nicely to get up, or even when he sternly told her to get up. So he made her get up. Now her passive resistance garnered the use of empty hand control. And you can see she became actively resistant as soon as he tried to get her up. She got what was coming when you disobey a lawful order. While it may be a public school its still private property.
What the actual fuck?!

I don’t think that was a coincidence.

Yes, absolutely you’re right! A disruptive child should be thrown across the room while inside a desk, but only after an armbar or chokehold.
seems they arrest the girl that video tape the cop busting that other girl. WTH?
