Even if you shut down all the Sea Worlds on the face of the earth (and other institutions like it) what would you do with the whales? Many have been born in captivity. Others are so habituated to captive life they wouldn’t be able to fend for themselves in the wild. What a gigantic fuck up. We really are arrogant a-holes. Taking magnificent, self aware, intelligent animals, putting them into torture chambers, and turning them into clowns for our human-centric entertainment and then expecting everything to be fine. I despair. I really do.
