As a former railroad trackman, I have to say that for a railroad spike, that’s looking extraordinarily new. A five gallon bucket of them (new) weighs 200 pounds by the way. And they were all rusted, worse than that picture. I lost 20 pounds and six inches off my waist that first summer. I couldn’t even start a spike when on my first day. On my last day of that summer, I could pound one in nice and tight in three hits. Which has more to do with learning on HOW to hit it, than how hard you can hit it.
Nailed it!
