    how is this in anyway safe and beneficial to the environment? i dont know how or why, but it seems extremely damaging to the water table and wildlife. am i crazy?

    The area that they dig out is normally the river mouth, but it got dammed up with sand. They’re just returning it to normal and stopping it flooding further back.
