I kind of enjoyed it too but it’s by no means good. I approached it as a very broad, black comedy about bad parenting, dolled up with SF trappings. On those terms it sort of works. And the critics are all wrong about Die Antwoord. They are NOT the thing that’s wrong with this film. The thing that’s wrong with this film is the script. Apparently Blomcamp came up with this silly notion during the shooting of Elysium and a first draft was written in two weeks. Looks like they shot the first draft. Oi Blomcamp! No!
