MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — American Sniper is tops at the box office but don’t expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won’t see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.
“A hero must be honorable, must have honor. And you can’t have honor if you’re a liar. There is no honor in lying,” Ventura told The Associated Press

Yep!
But there’s honor in suing widows? riiiiiiiiiiight….
Jesse Ventura is almost as big of an ass as Michael Moore.
Ventura might be an ass but that doesn’t make him wrong.
So you’re in favor of rich guys suing innocent widows for millions of dollars?
I have no problem with Ventura suing the estate of a liar and taking money from a rich woman who can afford to lose the money.
He didn’t put her out on the street and whatever she lost could have been saved if her husband would have shut his mouth.
Ventura is batshit crazy these days… but he isn’t wrong in this case.
And no. I have no sympathy for an old woman with a lot of money left to her by her dead liar husband. Why do you?
Jesse? Is that you?

Technically speaking, he sued the estate for damages. If Kyle and his estate profited from a lie that damaged Ventura’s reputation (as the jury decided was the case), then he has legitimate claim to redress. Mrs. Kyle’s status as a widow makes her sympathetic, not in the right.
It appears that Kyle’s biggest foe has been himself. He seemed to mix quite a bit of fantasy into his non-fiction book. Given the overall positive response to the book and movie, it looks like a drop in the bucket to an overall windfall for his widow.
Scratch the “old”. Force of habit.
I still don’t see any tragedy here.
I do. Have you seen that movie? God it’s shit.
Lying is wrong said the former professional wrestler.
He was an actor playing a role.
You didn’t know that?
