What’s the point of boycotting Syria when a) We’re living in countries that already have economic sanctions in place, and b) Syria don’t export a meaningful amount of consumer goods to first-world countries. “Propaganda” would seem pretty pointless, too… are there many people under the impression that Syria is a lovely place to visit and a staunch ally of the free world?
Perhaps people aren’t happy about the fact that they’re PAYING for the prosperity in Israel, and what exactly is the return on that investment? Being almost universally hated by everyone else in the middle east, apparently.
Well, we also support Saudi Arabia, which has a horrible human rights record. IMO, America’s policy has less to do with human rights and more to do with “are the leaders of country X people who follow our agendas”.

Of course investing money in becoming less dependent on oil would never make sense. God forbid we could ever start ignoring that cesspit of a region because they no longer mattered to us.
Lemme speak plainly, if there was no oil in that area Israel would have been gone like a fart in a windstorm. Not saying that’s a good or bad thing just saying.
The entire area has a distorted sense of impact not linked to any achievement other then hitting the lottery on what’s buried under their land. If we didn’t need the oil we would regularly be telling them to fuck off in polite terms. Regardless of which particular flavor of madman was running the shop that week.
And Americas policy’s are tied to who will keep the region presumably stable so we can continue to pump oil. Everything else is window dressing. Google what the Saudi’s do to their own people and what their money bankrolls in the area before considering them as such good friends. Our policies in the Middle East haven’t left us with much in the way of friends. Just people we make deals with to hold on a little longer.
Bah nothing’s going to change until the oil runs out and by that point I shudder to think how the economic collapse of the region will redefine the term clusterfuck. Hopefully I’ll have passed on by then.
This^^^
Its already a clusterfuck….and its only going to get worse.
The oil money has kept the tribalism (mostly) at bay….but even that is loosing its grasp on any kind of stability…
We seem to have invested in oil well enough to glut the market (despite the whole ‘OPEC trying to kill fracking,’ we’re the ones that came up with the new source to put on the market).
I’m not sure what the OP expects from people (or the idea that kids aren’t bothered by the chaos in Syria). We have a measure of influence in Israel. Short of invading Syria and imposing our view of civilization (which worked so well in Iraq), no one seems to know what to do to actually effect the situation.
Turning Syria, and pretty much every other country around Israel into a parking lot via nukes would be a good start. In fact, I’d go so far as to say, nuking every country in the middle east would pretty much end all of the fighting over there, and end the terrorist threat here in the U.S.. I know some of you are gonna be butt hurt over this idea, but that’s because you’re probably a liberal, anti-semite, if you do, and those of us with any sense know that liberals blame Israel for all of the problems in that area.
The irony being is that the terrorist attacks are in fact being carried out by Muslim nations, not by the Jews. Pretty much anywhere you have a large percentage of Muslim populations, you have terror and war. Before any of you idiot liberals scream that it’s bullcrap because there is not any of that in the U.S., it’s because of a couple of reasons:
(1) The Muslim population here is not all radicalized. There are actually moderate Muslims here, who are not hell bent on destroying the world.
(2) The general population of the U.S. is an armed population, (Now I know this is not true everywhere, but the statement can safely be made via general consensus, and be largely accurate) and if someone was to try and start allot of the nonsense here that is being done over there, they would be shot by just about anyone around them who was armed.
That being said, I support Israel in her struggles against Islamic terrorists, and hope she nukes the shit out of her neighbors. Fuck Islam, and Islamic countries.
That first paragraph alone is a gem, dude. Write it down and have it framed. Laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair.
Why risk satire when you can go full retard right from the start and establish (with no room for argument) that when it comes to your embrace of insane notions, you do not tolerate half-measures?
Such courage. Such dedication to avoiding any waste of time… any pretense of rationality.
I salute you, Sir.
(Seriously though, it might be time for you to change the tinfoil inside your hat; be sure to add a few more layers while you’re at it).
^^^ is it possible to be as 24/7 butthurt as this guy and still have a pulse? You know they say people without a sense of humor are people that have never faced any real challenges in life.

So not a clusterfuck then….?
🙂
If there was oil in the region Israel would control 100 times its current land mass and its neighbors would not dare try any of their normal shit.
