Bizarrely, Sellers insisted on starting this interview by being Franz Liebkind from The Producers. He was offered the role of Leo Bloom by Mel Brooks and didn’t even bother to reply. Watching this, it’s uncanny how he slips effortlessly from character to character, accent to accent, like he was a hollow vessel just waiting to be filled by someone else, almost akin to possession.
