It’s just a bunch of buttmad ad hominem, mixed with childish name calling. This is why GamerGate is wining. Here’s a take from an actual real journalist: www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/10/21/Incredibly-GamerGate-is-winning-but-you-won-t-read-that-anywhere-in-the-terrified-liberal-media/
I’d love to know how you think you’re winning when no one even knows you exist, but then again, you’re “winning” at a game no one else is playing.
So all the anti-GamerGaters are unaware of what they’re bitching about? They’re just randomly pressing keys on the keyboard like proverbial monkeys and somehow they typed the word “gamergate”?
Well, if you took what I said and put it through a blender I could see that as a reasonable interpretation, but I’ll admit that I was unclear. Let’s try again.
I meant that the Gamergate phenomena has barely hit mainstream notice despite having two months and wonderful juicy stories like sex, intimidation, reciprocal accusations of fabrication and falsification, and the threat of a campus shooting.
I’m saying that I don’t see how a social change movement can be said to be winning when it has all that going for itself, and even the CNNs, MSNBCs, and Fox News of the world are greeting it with a collective yawn.
As for the game no one else is playing, that goes back to a notion that this tempest in a teapot is an epic battle against two sides for dominance over… something?… some cohesive issue. The GGers are winning in that their apparent existence is all anyone can talk about in the very small fishbowl which is the gaming industry. And if that is the entire point, well then congratulations, you won. Not hard when there wasn’t any opposition since no one else was working with that as the end goal. If there was another goal, I’m sorry but I don’t see any real victory having happened.
I love how each time I prove you wrong you just move the goal posts. Enjoy your butthurt.
I would love to know how you think you’ve proven anyone wrong.
Not to quote my original post title, but BWAHAHAHAHAhahahaha! “real” journalist. he.. hehe… on breitbart.com. BWAHAHAHAhaha! Oh gawd! The tears!
Keep on “winning” there, son! You and Charlie Sheen.
I’m hearing hurt feelings but no rebuttal.
That is funny.
I guess you lose all sense of what grown-up behavior is when you shut out the real world for too long.
If you want to know what’s REALLY got the anti-GamerGate crowd upset, it’s that GamerGate has so far convinced Intel, BMW, Mercedes, Adobe, and Nissan to pull advertising from the websites being boycotted for corruption. Gawker and Vox media a shitting themselves. They stand to lose millions. So insult GamerGate all you want, it just helps us to convince more major advertisers to pull their ads, starving the bigots of funding.
lol. Keep telling yourself that, son. People critical of Gamergate are the ones who are bigots. That’s why they must all be doxxed, and sent death threats. Because science, motherfuckers!
Again, I’m hearing hurt feelings but no rebuttal.
seems to me if you want female characters, storylines ,etc. ..then why not make your own game? you shouldn’t scream about what games others are making or playing if you’re not willing to do the work yourself. and besides GTA has been around for how long? sounds like some people need to do a reality check, “burn down the internet” , because of a few assholes making threats? group punishment you communist prick? get a life.
What group punishment? Naming and shaming?
if you read the whole rant he states that this bullshit drama is proof that the internet should be “burned down” , since a lot more people than the retards involved in this bullshit wanna be soap opera then you’d be punishing the rest of us for their actions. that would be group punishment, comprende?
If the internet were literally burned down, yes, I suppose. But people make grandiose hyperbole all the time group punishment = communism). Burning down the internet is not what’s happening. Basically nothing is happening except that a few female gamers are naming and shaming developers on not putting out better games for women, a micro-culture of the internet explodes over a butthurt ex-boyfriend’s punishment drama and some ill defined non-mission over video game journalism, and people like Kluwe are being called Football’s most decent person and people like Fink are busy patting themselves on the back for reasons no one else understands.
What kind of rebuttal are you looking for, Fink? So far, the only “points” you seem to have made, is that everyone is butthurt and that your one true “journalist” source is correct. Well, he is correct, in that advertisers rarely like controversy. Tiger Woods cheats on his wife? Sponsors pull the plug. Honey Boo Boo’s mother dates a pedophile? Network cancels the show because advertisers would pull out. Hell, advertisers threatened the NFL when Janet Jackson had her nipple exposed to millions of basement-dwelling virgins like yourself. So your “journalist” is right in that, but he is wrong when it comes to the reasoning. They aren’t picking sides, they’re retreating completely until the smoke clears. They aren’t willing to get embroiled in an internet troll war and risk tarnishing their brand, like any smart company would. I mean, who want’s to be associated with a bunch of feminists, right? Oh, that’s right, Lots. Mainly, GASP!, Companies that cater to women. What a concept. Now, what about companies that want to be associated with a group of men threatening women with rape and murder? …… Yeah, a bit harder to find one of those. So, in conclusion, while this whole thing started out as a laughable attempt to rid the gaming world of biased journalism, which was debunked fairly quickly by the way as an attempt at revenge by a jealous ex, all it has done is show the world how little has changed in the gaming industry. And the worlds response so far? *Yawn*
Then how do you explain what she did to the Fine Young Capitalists? I guess it wasn’t “debunked” after all.

(from link above)
“What’s “wrong” with Gamergate?
Coverage of Gamergate by certain media outlets ***that we do not necessarily agree with*** has focused on a long series of female game designers and critics who have been forced to flee their homes after individuals identifying with the Gamergate movement bombarded them with a significant amount of online harassment, followed by explicit threats to rape and murder them. This has led many to decry Gamergate as somehow misogynistic or violent, and is an aspect of this whole issue we’d readily omit here if members of the movement told us to.
Because it’s only one side of the story! The rape threats and hate speech are coming from only one, extremely vocal, extremely visible faction within Gamergate. These radical individuals distract from the main message of Gamergate. It is important to remember that the members of Gamergate, only some of whom threaten to rape and murder women, are simply fighting for ethics in gaming journalism.
How is Gamergate answering its critics?
In order to clarify their message, members of Gamergate have seen to it that any individual who unfairly singles out the violent and bigoted aspects of the movement for criticism immediately becomes the target of sustained online harassment. Needless to say, we don’t mean for that last sentence to sound like a criticism of Gamergate. We’d even go so far as to say that anybody critical of Gamergate probably had it coming, if that is better.
Listen: If you’re thinking about targeting the authors of this article, or mounting a campaign to get funding for this website pulled, please reconsider, and instead, just tell us how to make this thing look the way you want it to look.”
“Coverage of Gamergate by certain media outlets has focused on a long series of female game designers and critics”
Incorrect. For example, Adobe pulled their ads from a website because it’s editor was suggesting that people should beat up GamerGate nerds. Intel pulled it’s ads because of an article multiple websites published declaring that “Gamers are dead”.
The cries of “my soggy knee!” are just spin. Just listen to these three women being interviewed by Huff Post: youtu.be/Nnuiie9zttU
No. Adobe pulled their ads from Gawker because their PR weasels are cynical morons with their heads up their collective asses. When gamergaters stopped posting murder-rape fantasies to 8chan long enough to send copypasta complaints to Adobe corporate, they jumped like all skittish PR weasels do. But gamergate is so fucking toxic that even they realised they’d been had and released some mealy mouthed backpedaling mere hours later.
Look dude, say what you want. Some of us have been to 8chan and wizardchan, and know what sort of fecal effluent passes for motivation for gamergaters. Even your Auntie Elma’s magazines are starting to figure out what it’s all about: www.newsweek.com/gamergate-about-media-ethics-or-harassing-women-harassment-data-show-279736
Enjoy being on the wrong (so very, very wrong, for so very very many reasons) side, son.
All I’m hearing is hurt feelings, but still no evidence to back up any of your claims. We get it, you’re upset GamerGate has been a huge success. We have starved Gawker and Vox of millions of dollars of advertising due to their bigotry and bullying. GameGate has done the impossible and we’re still going.
(moar)
Is Gamergate a vast, complex, and diverse community?
Yes! It is not composed, as the mainstream media would lead you to believe, solely of white male trolls. It also has female trolls. It has African-American trolls and Asian trolls, gay trolls and straight trolls. In fact, Gamergate is all about the inclusion of anyone—regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation—whose views on video games and how we should think about them conform exactly to those of the movement at large.
———
Is that right? If you are a member of Gamergate, let us know if that is not right, or if any of that made you angry. We’ll change it right away. We want to accurately reflect your dedication to something involving ethics in journalism. We want to tell the world about what you are trying to build. Or destroy. We don’t know. It’s been a bit tricky to piece together what it is you’re trying to do and how you’re trying to do it.
We would hasten to add, before our Twitter feed is turned into a hellish garbage dump for the worst discussion ever conducted on the internet, that these women driven from their homes, these journalists targeted by hate campaigns, and these websites financially punished for their dissent are all unfortunate victims of a few fringe individuals within Gamergate. That these are the movement’s only tangible achievements so far does not change the fact that this is, at its core, a concerned community dedicated to having a reasonable discussion about ethics in journalism.
And that’s the best part of the whole thing, right? That Gamergate, as a legitimate movement arguing in good faith, can accept criticism and dissent without resorting to vitriolic censorship or threats of violence.
Unless you guys aren’t into that. If not, then that’s totally fine. Just look this whole thing over and tell us if there’s anything we should change. Email all of your demands to Gamergate@ClickHole.com. We’ll get on it right away.
Like you, we value ethics in journalism, and will alter our content in whatever way you feel best supports those values.
Please don’t hurt us
wait there’s membership for gamergate now?
This thread is the most pathetic I’ve ever read on MCS.
One little poke, and the butt-hurt comes roaring to the surface.
Way too funny.
did you see the one about the moldy bible?
I know. SJWs like you got your panties in a right bunch. So many wonderful hurt feelings.
Nope.
I don’t give any shits at all.
🙂
Just here for the pure entertainment value you are providing Manlyfink.
Thanks for the pathetic, self-absorbed, hugely butt-hurt lols.
Lots of fun watching your frenetic meltdown.
>claims not to care
>keeps posting about how much they don’t care
>sad desperation
…..and ManlyFinklyMan’s tantrum continues.
Again FinklyStone….not caring about Gamergate.
Notice the actual content of…all….my posts…?
The “not caring, but enjoying your butt-hurt” parts, and the complete absence of “caring about Gamergate” parts…?
Or can’t you read?
Now please…take the last word….continue meltdown….
I’ll leave you alone to your despair now.
🙂
Yep, sad desperation.
And despite this being a more vicious denouncing of GamerGate than anything before, this guy will NOT get doxxed because he’s… well… a guy.
GamerGate is about hating women. QED.
“GamerGate is about hating women”
[citation needed]
Here’s a thought. Why not show us how gamergate is NOT about harrassing women? Why not show us the legions of tweets and blog posts about actual journalists acting unethically, instead of death threats against women who speak out with an opinion you don’t like? Why not show us the no-doubt hundreds of articles written by gamergate proponents decrying the corporate influence on gaming journalism that were written before Zoe Quinn’s ex had his lying shitfit online? No? Too difficult? Fair dinkum. How about the no-doubt dozens written on that theme after the shit hit the fan and gamergate became a, errr… thing? No? Really? Can’t find it for all the tens of thousands of rabid mysoginistic rage-filled tweets and posts? I feel your pain. But it’s all about ethics in gaming journalism, right? Always has been. Which is why only feminist critics have been targeted. With death threats and the like. Because that’s how to address ethics in journalism. Or something.
Why would he need to show you? They’re trivial to find with even a cursory search.
So there are unsavory people using unsavory (or illegal) methods to discredit or harass these women, in what way does that make legitimate criticism no longer valid?
Humour me, son. Link us to, say, 4 gamergate-associated articles critical of the corporate influence in gaming journalism. Or, you know, one even.
Here ya go!
www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/10/23/Here-s-what-will-happen-to-games-journalism-in-the-coming-decade
Kudos fink, you found one! And it actually mentions industry influence (as well as evil, misleading feminists and their supporters, natch) Could you, you know, possibly find the next one NOT on breitbart though? I’m still delousing my laptop from the last time I visited there.
Oh, you just moved the goal posts. That means I win.
I’m hearing a lot of accusations, but still no evidence.
Seeing as Anita never reported the “death threats” to the police, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ask for evidence that they were made at all, let along by anyone from GamerGate.
The FBI has an ongoing investigation into the numerous death threats made against her. Are you really implying that this latest incident isn’t part of that file?
Now how about all those articles and blog posts NOT targeting women or anyone who dares to utter something something feminism something something? Still searching?
I am aware that the FBI is investigating, but this is a woman that has been under investigation by the FBI in the past. The fact that she lied about reporting it to the local police, and so now the FBI is investing does not bode well for her.
hehehe

Is this supposed to make fun of the fact that YOU posted this GamerGate item?
No. This is just supposed to be amusing. Sure, it is a poke at the gamergaters. But to be fair, if it was 100,000 pixels longer, stripped entirely of any humour and amusement value, filled with cherry picked meandering bullshit and lies, eyeglazingly dull and and utterly incomprehensible to anyone not heavily invested in the whole gamergate clusterfuck, it could also have been used as a poke at the critics of gamergate.
…still waiting on those other articles decrying the corporate influence on gaming journalism, by the by.
Actually it was provided, and then you moved the goal posts. You lose.
I know that gamergaters have problems with basic concepts of logic (and civility, and respect, and proportion, and sanity). But still, surely even you don’t think one link is the same as four now, do you?
You suck at debate. You said “Or, you know, one even.”. Stop moving those goal posts.

Oh this is fucking PRICELESS:
