Sumo just sent me one of these (well, a week ago, and I’m way behind on when I told them I would have a review up, but I blame…. well I have no one else to blame but myself. After struggling to get the box home in my tiny Mazda3, I spent the entire weekend playing Dungeon Defenders with my wife, having some beers and having a grand time testing out this chair type thing. There were a few times that I lost it either to my girl or to one of our cats, seems like it attracted them equally.

Pros:

• very comfortable, has a neck / head rest that’s easily adjustable, and was within reach of my massive melon, which was a surprise. normally i’m too tall or oddly proportioned for average sitting devices to be completely comfortable
• it’s adjustable, so in the 10+ hours playing video games, I was in like 5 different positions about 20 times.
• Cat resistant – one of our cats is stupid and wants to claw everything. she’s the reason that all three of them get locked up in the kitchen every day. she tried clawing at this, and while I can tell that if she had enough time she could do damage, the Omni Reloaded too her small amount of abuse with little evidence, no pulled threads or giant gaping holes.

Cons:

• it’s on the floor, no elevation. it took me a while to figure out how to sit on it after I had all the adjustments made to it’s various adjustable parts (hint: sit on the floor first and just scoot over to it!) This is akin to complaining that your red car is read after you buy it, kinda the whole point.
