Well the shield is made of an alloy of Vibranium, not Adamantium, so it’s not indestructible.
In the Marvel Universe, Vibranium absorbs kinetic energy so any impact on the shield is negated up to a point (because it is not pure vibranium)
Sufficient force can exceed the shield’s absorption threshold and damage it. It’s happened in the comics in the past when cosmic level forces have been employed, like in the Secret Wars.
