The stabilized version makes it quite apparent this is a fake. That’s so obviously a costume. None of the hair/fir moves. It’s wearing footwear for crying out loud!
None of your points are conclusive from the video, but I’m going to take the high road and upvote you because yes, it is a fake, because it looks like a big guy lumbering along, and a big lumbering guy admitted to wearing a suit and faking it:
Yeah…Heironimus claims he was wearing a suit.
But I’ve read quite a few interviews that say it was pretty well known in town that he and Gimlin despised each other……long before the film.
Apparently their neighbors thought it was unlikely Gimlin would have hired him.
And it also seems likely he might say something to fuck Gimlin up….
I have an interest in Cryptozoology and the Paranormal, and I consider myself “skeptically open-minded”. Furthermore, I have no interest entering into a debate over the authenticity of the Patterson-Gimlin Film. I have heard compelling arguments on both sides. However, a frame by frame analyse of the Patterson-Gimlin Film reveals that the figure is a female sasquatch (or a suit of a female sasquatch), as you can clearly see breasts in the following still.
If the Patterson-Gimlin Film is a hoax, I always thought it was strange that Patterson would choose to make a female costume, not out of the realm possibility of course, but a strange choice for mountain man, and cowboy type.
I’ve always thought that was strange…..to put breasts on a suit.
And the fact that neither Patterson nor Gimli even noticed the breasts themselves.
Someone else noticed them months after the film was made public…
Odd….if they were hoaxing…..
Thanks for your two cents and the book recommendation, Shoes.
Sorry for the long silence, but I’ve been quite busy moving (you never know how much stuff you have until you have to put it into boxes and put it all into a big moving truck…the cats haven’t been very happy about the move either). However, I did make time to see Godzilla, and I just haven’t had time to sit down and write a review yet, so stay tuned.
Well, it took me ages, but I finally watched the entire doc. Fascinating if inconclusive. I certainly believe there could be undiscovered ape species outside of the US and Canada. I quite like the First Nation cultural hypothesis but it doesn’t quite fit the bill. There is however, no doubt in my mind that the Patterson footage is fake. Like the prof says, “It screams man in a suit.” (And what happened to the creature that the Russian soldiers shot? It seems incredible that no follow up was done on that if it’s a true story. Leading me to believe it isn’t.)
Click on it.
It’s a really long stabilized gif.
Too big to play on the main page, I suspect…..
you got that right, it’s like 30 megs.

Is your ‘.’ key stuck or something?
I’ll tell you when you tell me why you’re so obsessed with me….
Why is it you project onto everyone on MCS that everyone has some kind of obsession? That’s not healthy.
Also, you need to get that keyboard fixed.
WTF is with the recent obsession with sasquatches?
we’ve always liked big hairy men around here.
Probably because of Les “Survivorman” Stroud:

You guys kill me. If a massive anthropoid was at large in America, it would have been found by now. As for the ‘breasts’ thing, my opinion is that it is a gorilla suit and male gorillas have quite prominent chests and nipples. I recommend this terrific book on cryptozoology. www.amazon.co.uk/Abominable-Science-Origins-Nessie-Cryptids-ebook/dp/B00BAHA5F2/ref=sr_1_13?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1401746219&sr=1-13&keywords=cryptozoology Btw rdeckard, we haven’t heard a peep out of you regarding Godzilla. I thought you were crazy to see it? What happened?
