Others include, but not limited to(and not in any particular order)George A. Romero’s Night of the Living and Dawn of the Dead, David Cronenburg’s The Fly, An American Werewolf in London, Ju-On, The Legend of Hell House, Richard Stanley’s Hardware and Dust Devil, John Carpenter’s Halloween, and Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects.
I love The Legend Of Hell House. It has some great, creepy (and ludicrously over the top) moments. Sexual intercourse with, then possession by a ghost anyone? But Richard Matheson’s novel and the film are a complete rip of Shirley Jackson’s much more subtle, The Haunting Of Hill House, and Robert Wise’s film version, a love letter to his time working with Val Lewton, is a masterpiece.
no arguments with these three…however…I can easily change out Alien with Aliens.
But the cast of the first one makes it an excellent choice. 🙂
