    Given that the earth is dangerously overpopulated, we should end all child support, baby bonus, and mother allowance. We need to make reproduction an expensive luxury if we are to save the human race.

    Because the people who have lots of children are the ones who ensure they can properly support them before making them.

    While I agree that we shouldn’t be incentivizing reproduction so heavily, child support has nothing to do with it. Child support = income from the parent that is not looking after the child given to the parent that is.

    But the incentive of child support causes some women to trick men into getting them pregnant (like an “ooops, forgot to take my pill” or a fake positive pregnancy test so “no need for condoms now!”) just so they can collect a check for the next 18 years. Some women will even drug men and sleep with them, or fish condoms out of the trash. Take away child support and this stops happening.
