    That pre1954 Beetle (Split Rear Window) has a Swing Axle Rear Suspension:

    Since the poor thing has been lowered to the Axle Stops, what you are seeing is the Camber Change inherent in a Swing Axle Suspension.

    VW changed both the Bus and the Beetle to Independent Rear Suspension in 1968.
