Because girls are stupid – how many little boys are hanging out at the vitamin supplement store looking for a fix? None.

And also wasn’t a representation of an adult that a child might think they might grow up to be. Barbie is a secretary/model/fashion designer/astronaut/whatever else. He-Man is an alien barbarian with a magic sword and teleporting or transmogrifying clothes. Boys growing up in the 80s imagined growing up to be He-man in the same way that they imagined being the Terminator, Wolverine, or Rambo. Girls growing up at the same time could reasonably assume that they are a failure if they don’t grow up to have a nearly impossible figure and a house in Malibu.
Between this and the racism posting, I’m curious to see if the next posting will be about how straight people are a repressed demographic (or Christians, or the college educated).
