If it’s any consolation, it’s well worth the wait. It’s a great movie. I’ve seen it twice. And if you get the chance see it in IMAX 3D, the presentation is amazing.
Saw it over the weekend. Loved it. Everyone’s banging on about the admittedly stupendous visual effects (at one point I wanted to hand Sandra Bullock a wrench she really needed) but I think the sound department deserve props too. Since space is a vacuum the sounds we hear are presumably generated by impact and movement inside her suit and helmet. A lot of the sounds are very under-watery (a similar environment). I can just imagine them all thunking around in huge metal water filled tubs.
Glad you like it. Yes, I thought the sound design was equal to the FX, too. The silence, the voices over radio, the thrusters, the shuddering of the space station, and the explosions really provided an immersive experience.

Outstanding movie. And yes, if you have IMAX, it’s well worth the extra cost.
Opens in the UK on Thursday. I have to wait to see it on Sunday (work commitments). Gutted.

3D Imax is the only format worth seeing it in, which is why I’m seeing it that way. How did you manage to see it before the UK release?
Excellent.
I live in the US.

I was wondering if you had time to see Gravity.
