I was being silly.
But for the record….at low altitudes and speeds the Blackbird did leak fuel like a sieve.
The idea was that it was impossible to use any normal sealant for the fuel tanks or lines.
So the parts were designed to heat up with the skin of the aircraft as it approached supersonic speeds and as the metal expanded the tanks and lines would self seal.
A plane that leaked fuel on the runway, but sealed up at operating speeds….incredible bit of outside the box engineering.
Those gas leaks look dangerous.
Do you have the shot right after this, when she exploded….?
Fool,those are caused when the bow hits the wave and the oxygen is broken down into individual fluoride particles..
thats not leaks , thats the blood of air that didn’t move out of the way fast enough
