    The late, great John Finch was originally cast in Kane’s role but he was suddenly taken ill with bronchitis and diabetes. John Hurt replaced him and the rest is history. A bit of a pity since the film would certainly have hurtled him into the worldwide fame stratosphere.

    Someone not happy with that statement? I love JH in Alien. I was just imagining an alternate universe where JF was Kane. Ridley Scott certainly rated him. He cast him in Kingdom Of Heaven.
