Not just bogus claims, but lying or changing of one’s story. Do you know if the footage can be used in court proceedings unrelated to police misconduct?
I’m not sure in the US but here in the UK…
the cameras were required for officers whom had high complaints of misconduct by fellow officers, not the public.
Odd coincidence, the complaints dropped by as much as 90%.
It keeps the cops from doing anything they shouldn’t, and people from making bogus claims against cops…

I don’t know about everywhere, but some places they work just like the dash-cams in the cars…anything it catches can be called as evidence for.
