But Jesus gave us the New Covenant which mean we have pick and choose, or invent an entirely new religion!

Where are these called an “abomination”? I checked and will tell the poster that they aren’t. But they are forbidden to the Hebrew people in their exodus. They aren’t damning sins; these pictured! here. Eating fishes looks to be fine, so… Yes, eating pigs it says is forbidden for them. The mixed fabrics thing probably had to do with teaching these ancient near east people about keeping one’s self purely set apart from compromising with other tribes -especially having nothing to with their gods in idolotry. Who knows? It probably could be explained pretty quickly by a couple, three, of the many websites that focus on Judaic law. These things are not considered abominations but they do read as forbidden if you look up the text. The last three all have to do with practices, such as the particular way of hair cutting hair and the cutting of themselves too, if having been done as a part of the worshipping of the dead in withcraft, or consulting those who claim they can communicate with the dead and try to do so.
and not eating pork was a pretty good decision in a very hot country where the meat goes off quicker than other meats but was that the word of God or just some wise men trying to give advice to a mostly uneducated populace?

A real god would make bacon last in the heat.
Well, I like my bacon hot!
