I didn’t get this movie. It was about:
1) This woman is horrible in every way, even though she’s supposed to be the hero.
2) The blacks oppressed the whites after the war. Even if that weren’t a load of shit, turnabout is fair play, fuckheads. You can’t go from being a bunch of slave owners to being a bunch of entitled, oppressed pussies within a few minutes.
3) The hero is a a selfish sociopath with bad luck, but we’re supposed to like her, but that guy hates her, the end. Who are we supposed to go for? What is the point of the movie? What is the moral of the story. I can’t figure it out at all.
I know what he means.
That isn’t fog in the background, it’s fumes from Clark Gable’s famous bad breath.

Fun fact: my great aunt was close friends with Margaret Mitchell; one of her ‘inner circle’.
Used to say she was exactly like Scarlett O’Hara.
