Er… Except that AR-15’s ARE legal in Canada… They have the same restrictions on them that handguns do.
They WERE illegal for a while but it quickly became apparent that they were particularly suited for sporting purposes and the prohibition was lifted.

In Calgary right now, the vast majority of homicides come from east Asian gangs stabbing each other in parking lots. These are people who aren’t patriotic enough to live in their own countries and improve things but they are proud enough to stab each other in parking lots because of some war that happened 1200 years ago. But when an Asian kills an Asian for purely nationalistic reasons it’s not a hate crime or something. The really sad thing is that these kids were mostly born in Canada and have never even seen the countries they’re killing each other over.
