Can’t recall if this was an illo for a book or concept art for the movie, but as much as I love the design they eventually went with for the flick, in its way this one is even more diabolical. That face!

    Yeah, the original Balrog was supposed to be made of shadows and darkness and such. Not sure which one I prefer!
