1.3 Million unwanted children that vs 20 well loved children.
I get that the loss of life under any circumstances is a tragedy but do I really want to force people to have kids? I cant help but think that the statistic could be 1.3 million more cases of child neglect or criminal activity or welfare cases.
It would be wonderful if there was a loving family, money and opportunity for every child conceived but the reality is there isn’t, and we shouldn’t be proposing solutions that assume a perfect world.

You don’t know that, there could be a multitude of reasons for those fetuses becoming non-viable. You do realise that around 1 in every 4 pregnancies ends in a miscarriage, right?
So is Polio, Cystic Fibrosis, Leukemia, Rubella, Cancer, Mono, Polio, Bronchiolitis, Meningitis, etc.
That begs the question though, which is “does society have the right to force the woman to ‘leave it where it is’…?”

The adoption waiting list for a healthy white child is massive. Why do you think couples turn to surrogates etc.
Don’t you miss the good old days when orphanages were full of unwanted children and there was plenty of priests to abuse them.
I do agree with the statement that “we need more guns to reduce the population” – since it’s been shown that a gun in the home is nearly three times as likely to kill a family member than an intruder, the most reasonable move is to arm every conservative to the teeth and wait until they kill each other off.
Then just collect up all the unused guns and recycle them into something useful.
Luckily, the conservatives have started this program on their own – of the top ten states for gun deaths in 2011, only one (#6, New Mexico) voted Democratic in the 2012 presidential election.
So increasing gun regulation just postpones the inevitable. I say – more guns for the red states!
