And the only solution is to give unlimited power to the government, that way, when an individual or small group takes ownership of the government we can rightfully call it communism instead of fascism. Which apparently is an improvement for some unknown reason.
IOW, the cry of every partisan politician: “those guys you hate have too much power! You should give ME all the power so I can keep you safe from them!”
And when you say the government shouldn’t even HAVE that much power, no matter who’s in charge, they both turn on you. “You just want to marry your dog” / “You just want to let the poor starve”.
Yeah, because the private sector is the real threat to our freedom at this moment in history. There are groups who are pushing the free speech restrictions now, but they aren’t corporations. Atheists will be screwed if they continue to push for restrictions of speech that insults religion (UN and EU are pushing laws now, and NYC just made it illegal to post any poster that insults or inflames). I swear the trendy ignorance of the real threats we face is amazing.
NYC didn’t make it illegal. They made a policy that no public agency (like the MTA) will accept any advertising (there are ads on buses and in most forms of public transit in NYC) they consider hate speech.
The free speech is for all, including Christians that want to discuss Islam.
Get with the program.

Since the US is a reoublic and not a democracy this has little to do with us. Although, I do understand that for the last hundred years or more the left has been working to transform the US into a democracy in order to circumvent the restrictions placed on the federal government by the COnstitution.
I’m probably just feeding the trolls, but let me make clear: you all are genuinely terrible at actually making convincing arguments. Genuinely awful. Please go take a rhetoric class, political science class, or whatever someone other than you (because you clearly have bad decision-making skills) thinks might help your debate skills. Why? Because, seriously, this is really sad.

Pretty sure “the atheists” are not the ones pushing for free speach exceptions for religion.

Troll fail.
