I hear it a lot, but generally phrased as “they bleed out more than they put in” and, if they work instead, “take jobs away from the younger generation.” Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
I thought people who made these cartoons were in favour of socialist policies?
And no one said he has to live off a “measley” <(lolspell much) 14K a year. Everyone knows they're going to get old one day. It's called saving. If you don't…that's your own fault for being stupid. People working in an already strained economy shouldn't have to fit the bill for a bunch of lazy baby boomers who weren't able to save in what was the biggest cake walk of a generation in the history of civilization. They had high incomes, low cost of living, and nothing to do but enjoy it. Fuck'em if they didn't plan for after.
First: There isn’t a politician ANYWHERE, of either party who has said this.
Second: Social Security was originally envisioned as a SUPPLEMENTAL retirement income.
Third: If the same amount of money the average person invests in SS were invested in the stock market, the average “nest egg” would be over $600,000.
This isn’t pro Democrat or Republican. This is saying that politicians have set up benefits for themselves well above and beyond what a citizen gets. It’s not arguing for more money for social security, it’s saying the politicians should get the same benefits as everyone else, not more or less.
The government positions were not supposed to be full time positions. That’s why they take summers off. The early congresses were made up of farmers and plantation owners. They took off the time of the harvest, and returned when the between crop harvests. Modern politicians have made it into a career and frankly, a very sweet gig. Show up when you want, do what you want, even a single term politician gets money and benefits for life.
I wasn’t aware anyone was stating retirees on SS were freeloading(besides the plans to gut MCare by R’s).

9/11 was bad.
Ya so civil servants pay should be gutted.

Miss the point of the post much?
Inability to comprehend the written word much?

In short – typical Democrat blather.

By government positions, I mean elected Congressional ones.
