Fines don’t mean shit when you can stay in business and just pass the charges along to consumers. Anyone know of anyone who was able to perform their day job while in prison?
I share your sentiments, good sir. And before the corporate apologists join in, I’d like to remind them that it is actually possible to provide financial services and help the economy grow without Tyron’ing your customers…or society at large, for that matter.
You can charge the directors, officers, executives and managers as well as the corporation in any criminal case. The fact that DOJ and the states don’t always do that is a political decision is a decision based on the facts and, sadly, politics sometimes.
BTW, I’m not sure many of you actually know what a corporation is so here’s the definition.
A company or group of people authorized to act as a single entity (legally a person) and recognized as such in law. It allows the group to act as one for legal purposes. That’s all. It’s not some scary monster out to get all you good socialists.
To quote Charlton Heston in Soylent Green, ‘It’s people.”
Yeah, I know, but that doesn’t make any sense considering your whole put them to death deal. It’s LEGALLY a person, not a really a person. You do get that right?
But it’s people that can’t really go to jail for their crimes.
True, employees of the corporation can be sent to jail, but the Corporation itself goes on committing the same crimes. In a corporation with thousands of employees even a director is expendable to preserve the profit margin.

The corporations are not going to reward you, no matter how vigorously you suck their cawks.

Banks sell home owners mortgages to other banks all the time, and sometimes the banks just foreclose on you anyway. www.tampabay.com/news/business/realestate/bank-of-america-forecloses-on-house-that-couple-had-paid-cash-for/1072632
So they can force you to do business with them

If you don’t recognize a tongue-in-cheek quote I’m afraid there’s little hope for you on the Internet.

But where the money goes is not relevant to the OP – the question is legal culpability.

Yeah – someone has a gun to your head forcing you to do business with them. Grow up.
