In all likelihood, unless faster-than-light travel is developed out of nowhere, you will spend your life on a ship and your children or your children’s children will inhabit the colony your ship seeks.
Check out Alaistair Reynolds, if you haven’t read him already. His little universe has ships that accelerate to something like 90% the speed of light, making time for the crew/passengers slow down to a crawl, while everywhere else things age in normal time. Great for migration & colonizing, not so much for round trips where you come home & everyone you knew is now decades older.
They better hurry up and invent star ships – I want to spend a few weeks on these planets, I think it would be bodacious

I think that’s a great idea.
I don’t think technology will be there in time for blowbags to get what he wants (also what I want).
STILL TAKES YEARS TO GET THERE
I don’t wanna open up a can of wormholes 😀
