Shouldn’t the burning bridges be BEHIND you? The term “light the way” is only used when the light is coming from the road ahead of you. If the light comes from behind you it wouldn’t be “lighting your way”. And if you’re burning the bridges just to go back to them, then you’re a moron.
Think it’s meant to mean “to show determination never to return without a victory”. Light the way… show by example.
