    Except that the US Federal Age of Sexual Consent is 18 – This applies in cases where any of the partners travels into or out of the United States, or from one State into another one for the purpose of a sexual encounter. Even if the age of consent is lower in that state, the age is 18 if you reside anywhere other than that state.

    So even if you live in Washington, where is age is 16, and travel to Maine where the age is also 16 to have sex with a 16 year old girl it’s still illegal until you’re both 18.

    In Pennsylvania it is 16 or within four years. IE 13-17. However a 17 year old is still a minor, so even if he consents, the parents can have charges pressed. Additionally, if a 12 or 16 year old sends nude photos, and and sends them in a text, it is still distribution of child pornography. And Pennsylvania’s laws are not much different then most States.
