I find myself at that dissonance quite often. I barely ever disagree with the man and yet 9/10 times he’s talking to another human being I can only focus on the socially detached douchenozzle he’s being.
He’s a few lessons in tact and class away from philosophical renown… and yet… ugh.
I despise specious reasoning in voters – I am of the opinion that only those who treat our system as a subject to be meticulously studied should vote (but understand the practical flaws of that, dumb lazy fucks need representation/a voice too unfortunately)
I appreciate the lifestyle I have and the fact I live in a very comfortable country – but I can’t be bothered to invest the time needed to differentiate between 2-3 parties that barely nudge my circumstances by an inch.
So – sorry Bill, I’m just not feeling the necessity so far.
So you’re saying the general populace shouldn’t be allowed to practice their foundational right to choose their representation in government? These same “dumb, lazy fucks” who are still good enough to get potentially drafted and exposed to the full horrors of war, die a violent death. Hey, they don’t know government like some people like you so they still shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
No I don’t know it either, that’s why I don’t vote. A woman at work voted for the other party because her husband and cousin lost their job at a production plant, 6 months later when the other party got in, they had work again. She was convinced that party A was worse than party B because of that situation. That is dumb, and should not have affected her vote.
Except for the fact that Bill Maher and people like him would feel the same sense of concept for you if you don’t exercise your freedom to vote in a way agreeable to him.
Fuck Bill Maher and fuck voting for John Jackson vs Jack Johnson.
“What would you do, if you were asked to give up your dreams for freedom?
What would you do, if asked to make the ultimate sacrifice?
Would ya think about all them people who gave up everything they had?
Would ya think about all them war vets, and would ya start to feel bad?
Freedom isn’t free, it costs folks like you and me, and if we don’t all chip in we’ll never pay that bet.
Freedom isn’t free, no there’s a hefty fuckin’ fee, and if you don’t throw in your buck o’ five, who will?
Oooo, buck o’ five, freedom costs a buck o’ five.”

in the USA, we are only permitted a choice between two different sides of the same worthless wooden nickel. it is rather pointless to choose one side or the other when both sides are corrupt, and united against the people. even voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. at its root, government is the attempt to control the behavior of others which is clearly wrong in a free society, and i wish for people to be free. voting implies consent for this corrupt and misguided system, and i do not consent.
Bullshit. There are ALWAYS other choices, you can always write in a choice if you want. Not voting implies consent. Voting is how you change things. You don’t like the guy in office now? Vote for the new guy. New guy is as bad as the old guy? Vote in another new guy. Keep voting in new people until one of them does what you want. And you can vote for independents and libertarians. If enough of us vote out the guys in charge now, they guys coming in will get the message that they have to fix things if they like being in office.
You could go beyond voting by campaigning for a candidate you believe in.
You can justify your passivity however you want, just keep in mind that when they take your rights away, YOU LET THEM.
i don’t want a politician to do what i want. i want to do what i want, and i want you to do what you want (that is unless you don’t want to do what you want).
i do not seek to use power to control the behavior of others. i seek to control my own behavior and nothing more. this is how i am free.
furthermore, i do not seek to convince you that my position is the correct one. i only seek to share what has been my own experience and my personal path to peace and happiness.
in the past, i have voted, and contributed, and campaigned, and in the end i was angry and frustrated. today i just say no to politics, and i am truly peaceful and free.

if “freedom isn’t free” then why isn’t it called “you-have-to-pay-for-it-DUMB”? 8/
wow
I don’t think anyone…other than a complete retard…would assume the cost of freedom has a dollar sign.

please allow me to elaborate…
