    For those that aren’t realizing what’s going on here (took me awhile) the road is expanding and collapsing to allow access to toll booths.

    10 lanes merge into 4 lanes after the toll booths. Its easier to see if you look at the road lines.

    Easier to understand if you realize that the picture isn’t taken directly above the toll booths. It’s taken from one end looking down the highway.
    Also, ignore the 3-D blocks that were added to the pic. They just reinforce the illusion.
