For the longest time, I’ve been seeing movie trailers come out, I think to myself, “man that looks interesting, I’d love to see that!” and then promptly forget about it. So, like any unemployed man would do, I’ve been wailing away at the code trying to get everything to work JUST right, and I think I have a solution to the problem of liking a movie or a video game, and then forgetting all about it until Steam does a 99% off deal on it because it’s been five years. THIS situation is exactly why I have Batman: Akrham Asylum on my computer, ready to play. I knew I wanted to play it, I got distracted, and never had it any any wish list of any kind, and didn’t remember it again until I saw it on a Steam sale.
All that to say, I believe that 2Queue is ready for launch, and ready for any of you to go over and see that you want to add a movie to your queue and do so. You don’t strictly have to register to have a queue, but it would help in the long run. Don’t see a movie or video game in the database that you want to add? You can either IM it to me or you could add it yourself if you’re brave enough!
So please, check out 2queue and let me know what you think here on this post.
[edited to say: good grief, I forgot to mention that I have them all by release date too, here’s what’s being released this Friday: www.2queue.com/tag/2012-02-10/ ]
Hey Tiki, Looks promising. I signed up and looking forward to updates. I know my way around photoshop I dont mind helping in giving this website some “colour”
I would love color. I would also like some eye catching advertisements that I could use to advertise it within my own website network.
it’s literally just a proof of concept right now with just what I was personally looking for in a queue site. I’ve seen wish lists, and I’ve seen queues on netflix, but they never had the ability for me to add an item myself, and in the case of netflix, there is no way to add a movie to your instant streaming queue if it’s not in the instant streaming library.
so it’s like parite bay?
not even in the slightest
How long should it take to get my password in my email?
Taking more than the couple of minutes I expected.
I’ll give it a few more, I guess.
pretty darn quickly.
Well, then it didn’t work for me. Over 12 hours later and no email. I have already tried the “forgot password” link to try and fool it into sending me a second email to replace the errant first one, but no joy. As I recall, I had a damn hard time (and almost identical issues) when signing up for my MCS account. Finally got that to work, but I don’t recall what it took to fix it.
Tiki, is there a way you can manually look in the database and look up whatever password I’ve been assigned and mail it to the address in the database? I used the same username as here.
Also, a suggestion:
Next to the “Add to queue” button, a link to the imdb page for that movie that opens in a new tab.
I’ve added a “More Information” section immediately after the post, now I need to find a good video game database like IMDB
Signed up and will try to add a few titles. Few issues, but looks promising.
is there a feature that will like email me …hey next week this comes out?
