believe it or not, I have yet to play any of the Assassin’s Creed games. My interest is growing however, and I may step into the world relatively soon…

    You can safely skip the first game and dive right into the second.
    In fact, I recommend doing it that way.

    I second this; the first hour of AC was fun – but the entire rest of the game was that same part over, and over, and over, and over. I forced myself to suffer through it just to get to the second.

    isn’t the story a pretty big part of the series though? that’s the only reason that I’m getting somewhat interested in it, I’m hearing that the underlaying story has some pretty good twists and turns to it

    There’s truth to this. The fist game breaks down after about 10 minutes of play to “Get mission, run across the identical beige rooftops, shank fuckers, get new mission”. Second one’s got more variety, missions are more fun and the story is actually interesting.

    AC is fun. Very interesting, entertaining and strange plot though. Extremely fun and repetitive once you figure the game out though.

    It also seems like a great way to slice open one’s own hand/wrist and rapidly bleed out.
