It started out as a George Barris custom on the show car circuit in the early 70’s called the “love machine” then he rented it out for a “B” action flick – it was supposed to be solar powered and equipped with laser cannons but it was just the show car with an odd paint job, also by Barris.
Eventually Barris sold Super Van to Bob Butt’s Fantasy Car in El Cajon California. Butts used it for rental to the Film and Television Industry and Super Van appeared in numerous productions including an appearance as the Hill Valley Transporter in Back to the Future Part II.
