His one variation: “I’m not trying to be a dick, but…” Once, when he was being particularly douchey about something, he pulled this and I just lost it, cutting in with “But ____, you’re doing such a great job of being a dick.” Didn’t speak to me for a week –the most peaceful week I’ve ever had there.
