Now do one called “The Illusion of Control” where you show the reason we’re seeing the news that we see and the movies that we see and the TV shows that we see is because the idiot masses keep demanding more Transformer movies and Twilight movies, and think movies like “The Blind Side”, “Crash”, and “The Help” are deep and insightful and clever, not because “evil big corporations” have some secret agenda to push that kind of crap onto the audiences.

The part that liberal morons don’t seem to get is that big corporations get big by figuring out what the idiot masses want and giving it to them in the cheapest, most profitable way. They don’t try to control people’s tastes or people’s opinions. Only religion, politics and Apple can do that because it requires having a captive audience that gives you money for nothing (e.g., taxes, tithing, or iPads). Even monopolies cannot get away with that kind of crap. If people eat hamburgers at McDonalds instead of eating real hamburgers made with actual meat rather than the “meat-inspired” byproducts from McD is only because McD understood that the idiot masses are more interested in quick, cheap food that tasty (and invaribly slower and more expensive) food.

People don’t watch Adam Sandler movies because “the evil media conglomerates brainwashed them into liking that crap”. No, Hollywood keeps making Adam Sandler movies because the idiot masses keep thinking he’s funny and go to watch his movies. If all intelligent, insightful indie movies were a hit with the audience, that’d be all Hollywood would make because they’re infinitely more profitable than big special-effects blockbusters.

And if giving objective, insightful, thorough news was what the audience wanted, then all news shows would give them that. But news watchers are as biased as corporations are claimed to be and they want their news to match their biases. That’s why EVERYONE in any extreme side of the political spectrum will invariably complain that ALL news shows are completely biased toward THE OTHER SIDE of the spectrum. So when calculating their biases, the news shows only care about maximizing their profits by matching the biases of the majority of viewers, not about pushing their own agendas, since corporations sold their agendas for profit about the same time their sold their grandmothers.
