It’s not the graphics but the gameplay that matters. Show me a game in ’93 with a massive multiplayer persistent online world that gave players the freedom to pretty much build anything they want within that world….
Seriously. The Rogue-like games are some of the best I’ve ever played, and the best of those have just old ascii graphics. ( Though, these days they do tend to have a .bmp tile option, but even that’s pretty simple as far as graphics go ) Angband 4eva!
